The aircraft departed Akureyri airport in Northern Iceland and flew directly to the town of Aasiaat, located roughly 500 km (310 miles) North of the capital Nuuk and 1500 km (932 miles) from Akureyri.

From Aasiaat the aircraft proceeded to Reykjavik with 2 patients along with a doctor and a paramedic, before arriving back at Akureyri around 5:00 in the morning.
The total journey took about 12 hours, 6-7 of which were spent in the air.
This is the second air ambulance flight to Greenland in April, the first was a flight with a patient from Narsarsuaq to Reykjavik.

In 2010 so far, Myflug Air has operated 132 air ambulance flights in which 148 patients have been transported, mostly to the capital Reykjavik.
