Volcanic impact on the air ambulance operation

Flying in the caution area is however not prohibited. Flights conducted under visual flight rules are permitted, but the cloud ceiling, visibility and light conditions needs to sufficient to allow for safe separation from the ash plumes.
Each air ambulance request received while the eruption lasts will be reviewed in light of the size of the caution area and the prevailing winds, and as always, safety will be our primary concern.
