Akureyri is the largest town in Northern Iceland. It is located 390 km (240 miles) from the capital Reykjavik and only 100 km (60 miles) from the Arctic Circle.

The Arctic Circle Flight - Tour 1
This tour takes you to Grímsey island which is located on the Arctic circle, just North of mainland Iceland.
You will fly along the picturesque Eyjafjörður until you will see mainland Iceland disappear below the wings and Grímsey island appear on the horizon just ahead. Upon landing in Grímsey you have already crossed the artic circle, because it lies right across the airstrip.
Included in the trip is a guided tour around the island, which normally lasts about one hour.

Vatnjökull, Askja and Mývatn - Tour 2
This flight will take you from Akureyri inland towards Vatnajökull-glacier, the largest glacier in Europe. In Kverkfjöll mountains you observe the striking contrasts between thermal heat and glaciers. On a clear day one can see right across it to the south all the way to Iceland's highest mountain, Öræfajökull. On the way back we circle over Askja, Lake Myvatn and Goðafoss. Mývatn local - Tour 3
This tour provides a splendid view of Lake Mývatn and its immediate surroundings.
The remarkable pseudocraters at Skútustaðir can be seen from a unique point of view as well as the renowned explosion-crater Hverfjall and the crater row Þrengslaborgir.
Also to be seen is the famous high-temperature sulfat area area of Mt. Námafjall and one of Iceland's youngest lava at the Krafla volcano area.
During the flight to and from Lake Myvatn you will get a good overview over Goðafoss and the surrounding countryside. Duration: 1:00 hrs Price: 120 EUR per person
